"Ink and Clay 46: Art and Science Collide" Exhibition at Cal Poly outside of Los Angelos. "Scalded" is a black ceramic sculpture addressing permanent deforestation caused by slash and burn farming to clear natural forests for agricultural use. Patches of clay represent agricultural fields, and the chimney shape of the vessel denotes smoke caused by slash and burn practices.
